What the hell is Roll20?

Due to certain recent global events our local gaming club has been forced to shut down. This sucks! But using the magic of the internet we are learning how to continue our hobby online. We have started using Google Hangouts to have regular “bitch and brush” painting get-togethers, we have started an online Blood Bowl league… and some of us have looked into playing our RPG sessions online.

One of the most popular solutions is using a website called Roll20.

At first it was awkward but after playing a few games with Roll20 I found it was actually quite enjoyable once you’d learnt its quirks. However I discovered there was little info online for beginners to get started - so over the next few days I thought I would write up something about my limited experience with Roll20 so far.
